Fake It Until You Make It?

Ephesians 2:8-9 proclaims that faith is a gift from God.  While I have never felt bereft of that gift, belief in the Divine seems difficult in this culture.
I recently saw a sign which piqued my interest.  The sign proclaimed: "I would rather live my life and die to find out there isn't than live my life as if there isn't and find out that there is."
In some ways, this sentiment is back oneself through the Pearly Gates.  But for an agnostic who is not blessed with the gift of faith, it is an exortation to "Fake it until you make it."  It also indicates that is it better to make a world which you would want to live in.
